MENA Newswire News Desk: A Scandinavian Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing in Copenhagen Airport after a passenger discovered a live mouse in her in-flight meal. The plane, en route from Oslo, Norway, to Malaga, Spain, was diverted on Wednesday following the incident, adhering to the airline’s standard safety protocols. According to Scandinavian Airlines spokesperson Oystein Schmidt, the rodent posed a potential safety hazard, as it could chew through electrical wires onboard.

Passenger Jarle Borrestad shared his experience on social media, describing how the mouse “jumped out” of the woman’s meal seated next to him. He noted that despite the unexpected incident, passengers remained calm, and the flight was rerouted without major issues. After the emergency landing in Copenhagen, passengers were transferred to another aircraft to complete their journey to Malaga, adding only a few hours of delay. Borrestad emphasized that the situation, while surprising, did not cause any panic among the travelers.

In response to the incident, Schmidt further explained that such occurrences are extremely rare, and the airline maintains strict procedures to handle any safety risks involving rodents. The meal suppliers will undergo a review to ensure this does not happen again, he added. This incident follows a separate emergency landing involving a Delta Air Lines flight, where pressurization issues caused several passengers to experience ear and nosebleeds, prompting the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) to initiate an investigation.
